I approach my work as a system. Beyond the initial inspiration that animates the process, each piece develops with respect to the rules I have created for the image. The purpose of creating rules within the system is to maintain deliberateness within the piece. The intentionality of each line and its supporting function within the composition is what drives me to develop a level of detail I strive to maintain in my work. But the rules are not concrete, examination and repetition of an element leads to new innovations, new rules, and personal development through the execution of the artwork. The product of the system is an expanded consciousness and a concrete visualization of my internal reality.
